ARTRANS Executive Director visits CASCOM
FORT LEE, Va. – The U.S. Army Transportation Command Executive Director visited U.S. Army Combined Arms Support Command Sept. 14 to discuss ARTRANS role in contested logistics, watercraft and integration with CASCOM.
Kristina O’Brien leads ARTRANS, the Army service component command to U.S. Transportation Command, and a major subordinate command to Army Materiel Command. ARTRANS provides deployment and distribution capabilities to meet national objectives.
During her visit, O’Brien met with leadership from CASCOM and the U.S. Army Transportation Corps and Transportation School. She also spoke to the students attending the Joint Logistics Course at Army Sustainment University.
ARTRANS connects and synchronizes surface warfighting requirements through distribution network nodes to the point of need, responsively projecting power and delivering desired effects in support of combatant commands and the Total Joint Force. The command also partners with the commercial transportation industry as the coordinating link between Department of War surface transportation requirements and the capability industry provides.
